Welcome to St Luke’s Church, I look forward to meeting you in person sometime soon. St Luke’s is a local church community made up of all ages. Our buildings are in the centre of Cheltenham, near to the hospital. Like everyone, we are working out what it means to do life after months in lockdown. The coronavirus pandemic has caused huge pain and questioning across our world. There is a great need and desire to be able to find hope, truth and peace in response to our confusion. We believe that in Jesus Christ is hope for the future, truth to build lives upon and peace in our hearts and souls. Whether you have called yourself a Christian for a long time, or are still looking for answers, it is together as a community that we can best learn about Jesus, love each other and look after our local area.
We believe there is a huge blessing in being able to meet in person, where we can pray together, worship together and be guided by God’s word together. So, from Sunday 5th July we are meeting for services at St Luke’s. At the same time, we want to ensure that everyone feels safe and comfortable when we come together. Do watch the video below which explains the practicalities of coming to a service at St Luke’s. There is then a description of our different services so you can choose the one that best suits you.

Sunday

8 am Holy Communion
A traditional service using Anglican liturgy taken from Common Worship and the Book of Common Prayer alternately. There is no singing at this service.
10 am Morning Worship
A service combining familiar prayers with Bible reading and teaching. Also, the chance to hear stories of faith and ask questions. There is a mix of songs and hymns, once we are permitted to sing together. We share communion on the 1st Sunday in a month.
4 pm StLukes@4
Our most informal service, held in St Luke’s Church Hall. Children and adults worship together in an interactive way both through prayer and learning from the Bible. Singing will be lively and contemporary. When permitted, tea is shared together after the service.

Wednesday

11 am Holy Communion
A quiet midweek service including teaching from the Bible and familiar Anglican liturgy.
It might be that you don’t quite feel comfortable meeting with others just yet. In which case you will find recordings of our regular
weekday Bible readings and Sunday services on the Recorded Services page.
If you need to ask any further questions about coming to St Luke’s, or need assistance of any sort, please get in touch with me.
